Might be just the thing for somebody looking for .22-250 ballistics out of an AR-15 platform.

Rick's post made me curious. I can't find much information about it. Naming the cartridge 22 Nosler does not lend itself well when it comes to searching the internet. I did find some talk about it on another forum, along with a picture from a magazine of comparable ballistics data of the 22 Nosler and .223. The page show max velocity for both cartridges using 24" barrels. Max velocity with a 55 grain ballistic tip bullet is 3200FPS with the .223 and 3500FPS with the 22 Nosler. For kicks, I looked at my last data shooting my 24" .223 barrel with 55 grain bullets. Max speed on my chrono using IMR 3031 powder was 3300FPS. So, if Nosler's data is slightly skewed for both cartridges, the difference just not seem phenomenal to me. It will be interesting to hear how it performs and fares down the road. Just making a barrel change and magazine change does make it somewhat attractive.......sort of like the 300 Blackout with just a barrel change.

A solution looking for a problem if you ask me. Looks like a slightly fatter .223 case with a rebated rim so it'll fit normal AR bolt faces.

I'm in. Not on the 22 but necked up to 6 or 6.5 I'm in. Tired of chasing WSSM brass for my ARs.

From what I read it's a hager case necked down the case is long would be good round with lighter bullets for mag length.

Yup. The velocity claims are the same that I'm seeing with my 22/6.8
It appears that Nosler designed the case to eliminate the need for a special 6.8 bolt. Smart move.
Once detailed data is available, I'll have to see if my rifle will function with Nosler brass and a .223 bolt.

Just last year I was ready to build a 22x6.8 AR or 22-250 AI Savage. Choose the 22-250 due to lack of dies for the 22x6.8. But now I will have to build a new upper for this 22 Nosler. I have a 6.8spc and it is impressive in an AR.

And to the other magazine question. You can only load 3-5 in a standard 5.56 AR mag because the round pushes the mag walls out. But, 6.8 SPC mags work great. For mag size essentially a 10 round 6.8 mag is the size of a 20 round 5.56 mag. 20 round 6.8 is a 30 round 5.56.

Coincidentally, I just received an email from MidwayUSA on 22 Nosler components. The brass on their site is 58 to 67 cents each, depending on quantity purchased. They also have loaded ammo, dies, uppers and one 18" barrel in 22 Nosler. (AR stoner brand on the uppers and barrel)

I use Redding Type S bushing dies, in 6.8 SPC with about 4 different bushings for resizing 6.8 cases. I use a standard 6.8 seating die, and since I don't crimp, I have no issues. 6.8 Mags are the only way to go. Mine are usually filled with 6.8 when I want to shoot the 22/6.8 and loaded with 22/6.8 when I want to shoot the 6.8.
I need to buy more mags, lol.
