Hi there
I live in VT, and I have two Savage rifles:
99 in .250-3000 (1950s I think, serial number starts with 578)
1920 in .300 Savage (not sure of the date, serial #87xx).
Both are in good to excellent condition. They're mainly family heirlooms and not in active use, but they've all spent their share of time in the woods. As a kid I hunted some with the 1920. It stopped working (nothing major, I think the firing pin isn't coming far enough forward to hit the primer for whatever reason). That one I keep it mainly because it's pretty, and because of who it belonged to. I've never fired the other one, although its is beautiful and someday I will take it out and shoot it.
