I have a savage 12 fv (cabelas gun) in 308. Its a blind mag version. I was looking at the choate tactical stock but the website says it wont work with Accurate mag bottom metal. What bottom metal are shooters using in this stock? I dont mind doing a little work (although i'd rather not), but dont want to buy incompatible parts.

I would give CDI precision a hard look. You can send the stock into them and they will inlet your stock for you.

I just purchased a LA Choate Tactical from Jeff at CDI and had it inleted . I have owned their long action to short action dbm for awhile; It feeds .243 from AI magazines easily.

I had CDI put my 12FV 223 in a Choate stock with bottom metal and it looks and shoots great.

Does CDI do the inletting for free if you buy their bottom metal?

What about the bottom metal made by aics on their web sight it says it's a drop in fit to replace factory metal.

i got the choate ultimate sniper stock for my 111 in 7 RM Jeff at CDI inleted mine for free after buying his AI bottom metal
it now takes AI .300 win mag mags which are plenty big enough to accept my handloads after adjusting for seating depth
