hey guys I am thinking of buying a accustock for my model 11 from savage. just trying to get a feel for how much I'm gonna have to spend . I am left handed and I cant seem to find any decent used left handed stocks anywhere . its a short action and I already bought all the bottom metal so I'm not worried about that .I cant seem to bring myself to cut a right handed stock to make it left . the only nice stock I have seen that will work other than the accustock is choate tactical but I don't reall want a tac stock cause it a hunting gun , but I don't want wood either .thanks

Hmmmm tactical stocks make great hunting rigs so IDK. B&C makes decent sporter style stocks but I would really look at a tactical style. A better name for tactical is probably ERGONOMIC and MODERN and USABLE.
I haven't run a hunting style stock for almost 20 yrs now.

I don't know about a accu stock but savage model 11 trophy hunter stock is $105 + $15 for shipping so $120 total I am sure the accu stock is a lot more

The accu-stock will fit the model 11 all that needs to be done is change the model 11 recoil lug to a recoil lug made for the accu-stock

Left-hand synthetic aftermarket stocks are few and far between, and pretty much non-existent when it comes to the cheaper ones (i.e. Choate, Bell & Carlson, Hogue, etc). I'm not a fan of the AccuStock as it only addressed one of many problems with the original tupperware stocks, but for us lefties it's as good as it gets for a relatively inexpensive synthetic.

Beyond that you're going to have to step up and start looking at Stockade, Manners, McMillan or an aluminum chassis which are a lot more expensive.

like fox said about 10. to 15. dollars, and the price of barrel nut wrench and go ,no go gauges, or have a gunsmith install the lug

Call Savage Arms Parts and ask for the price. You won't find a cheaper composite/synthetic Savage SA, LH, CF stock with DBM inlet.

You're gonna have to either swap the recoil lug like other stated, or you can grind down the sides of yours to fit in the accstock.

You can put the barreled action is a vice and with a small grinder get rid of some of the sides of the recoil lug, then finish with a hand file to make it look pretty. This way you will not have to take the barrel off and redo the headspace.

Besides a grinder you can use a die grinder, or dremel grinding stones, or anything else that can take off metal a little at a time.
