What do you all think is better to build off from, 4.27 or 4.40 action? I have both, I have a model 16 4.27 action and I also have a model 12 4.40 action. Both are top release. Model 16 is 204 and the model 12 is a 223. Looking to build a nice 243 for a hunting gun.

The center feed action would be my first choice!

Forgot to add, both are staggered feed actions.

SF actions are 4.27 spacing
CF actions are 4.40 spacing

Sorry guys, I just traded for the m12 and the guy told me it was a 4.40, went back and measured it and found it is a 4.27. Looks like I'll be building off of a 4.27 action. I'll probably use the m16 as I have no use for a 204. I already have all the stuff to load for the 223 so I think I'll keep it intact and work with the m12 223.

Keep in mind that the CF blind mag stocks are pretty easy to mod for use with SF actions.
Relocate the front pillar, bed it and you're good.
Depending on stock you may have to fill in area on top of the rear pillar where the "L" clips designated.
Nothing really to do to mag well as it's large enough to accommodate the SF mag box.
The 16 would probably make the best donor for a hunting rifle considering it SS.
