Anyone been eyeing them up? I have one on the way from Eurooptic. They are selling at $426 there vs $570-$600 elsewhere. Between the sling flush cups and adjustable LOP/comb it seems tough to beat in this price.

They aren't real light but seemed like something I'd give a chance. The weight isn't really any worse than Boyd's varmint or choate stocks. Sure it's a bit more but it has all the features I wanted and more than half the price compared to McMillan and Manners with comparable feature set. Not a bunch in the wild it seems. I found maybe one guy on another site with two.

What rifle are you putting in this stock? I have been eyeing these up myself, curious how it works out for you. They show a different stock for the 16 vs the 12? I have a 10 and possibly a 14 I'd like to drop in one of these.

I'm dropping an 11 in with factory DBM currently. If/when I go with a 6.5 SAUM I will go PTG DBM and Accurate WSM mags.

I read somewhere the 16 model is intended for bottom bolt release and the Berserk 12 is for top bolt release. If that helps. I don't recall anyone having details for what the 12/16 are as in 4.4" or the shorter action screws. Based on an older post here it seems the Berserk 16 is in fact for the 4.27".

This stock has an awesome feature set. If I bought a Boyd's pepper laminate with stippling and adjustable comb it would run $300 and come with a nice wait.

I have it in my lap right now. Feels light enough, solid enough, little to no flex when you squeeze and wrench on the stock.

The grip is super comfortable. It has a molded in thumb rest, the palm swell is nice and the rubberized insert should help it with grip in wet hunting conditions. I wear medium sized gloves and the grip isn't too big for me. The slight outward angle is comfortable to me. Almost a natural wrist position.

The flush mounted sling QD cups are a nice feature. They also included the QD sling swivels. There is also a sling stud for bipod mounting on the forearm. I likely will be bolting a short pic rail to use my Tango Down bipod. A standard Harris mount is there already though.

The comb and buttpad are super easy to adjust with the pushbutton adjustment system. They are also easily removed for cleaning due to mud. The butt comes with a 0.5" limbsaver bad from the factory. I read a 1" is an option elsewhere.

Molding is nice and clean looking. For $450 shipped I think this is a sweet deal. Has a two year warranty as well.

Last thing I can really thing to mention feature wise is that it has heavier duty fiberglass as pillar blocks in the stock's normal polymer.

I'd seriously consider one if you guys are looking for a stock replacement and you're OK with the non-traditional appearance.

I will add some pics and update this when I get the action mounted and shoot.

Here's a better list of features.

Here are some weights for those curious.

DBM mag trigger guard and screws : 11.5oz

Factory sporter barreled 11 in .308 win: 4lb 5oz

Berserk stock was right at: 3lbs

Factory synthetic stock: 1lb 15oz

So all added up I have an 8lb rifle sans scope. Stock swap added a pound overall, most likely it's in the push button adjustment and slightly heavier build.

There is plenty of clearance for a heavier barrel as you can see in the picture.

That was a great price. It's back up to $625 now. I was considering this stock, but wanted to use higher capacity magazines - ended up with the KRG 180 Alpha.

I had a sneaking suspicion that something was wonky with the price I paid. So when I saw it as available for backorder I jumped on the chance to buy. I bet I paid wholesale as they are the importer for GRS now.

What do you mean by higher capacity mags? You can get 10rd mags for factory DBM. If I went with a short magnum caliber I'd just get a PTG dbm setup and Alpha WSM mags.

Higher capacity than factory 4 round magazine is what I meant. I've seen the Snyder 10 round magazines but at $90 + shipping, but I felt more comfortable going to an AI style magazine. As much as the ergonomics of the Berserk appealed to me, I was concerned about the stiffness of the core material (compared to aluminum spine of the KRG) and I could use MDT polymer 223 mags at $39 each.

Is it necessary to bed the action on the GRS?

I've read it's not necessary. I will try and get out with mine this weekend. See how it shoots in the new stock. I still have the factory sporter barrel for now so I don't expect anything impressive.

so I take it that it doesn't have an aluminum bedding block. will the .25 recoil lug fit without modification?

No aluminum bedding block. The recoil lug area looks sizeable for a good sized recoil lug. I did not measure though.

Stock is definitely a little different looking, but I have a Stealth so it is not something I'm against. How's the stock feel in prone and other positions other than off a bench?

Praeger: how do you like your KRG? I've been eyeing those up as well.

The stock is really comfortable in prone and off hand. I haven't put myself in a position where was uncomfortable. Compared to a standard sorter stock on my m700 or factory savage synthetic, the grip angle is way more comfortable in positions like prone.

Here's a pic for those interested in recoil lug space. I have a .250 lug and there's plenty of room. My calipers measured over .410" of recoil lug potential thickness.

I've also attached pics with my 6.5 Creedmoor Light Varmint profile barrel from Apache made with a GM blank, picked up out of the sale section.

I have one coming too, but what I really need to know is whats the exact width of the barrel channel at the end of the stock at the forend. Is it 1 inch or slightly larger like 1 1/8? Its the best ergonomically correct stock I've ever handled, thanks!

Here's an picture showing the barrel channel at the end of the forearm. My barrel is measuring just under an inch here and straight tapers from a small shank diameter of 1.055 to 0.740".

So savage goes and makes our gun for mass producing. I think we should get royaltys for our incredible insight smokinghole. I had this gun planned clear back in June of last year. http://www.savageshooters.com/showthread.php?51468-Grs-berserk

Savage went and made our custom gun a regular production gun, except mines bottom release.
