Need some help with scope mount

Ok so I got a B square scope mount for Christmas for my 340D .222(to replace old side mount) mounted my redfield revolution on top went to sight in and ran out of elevation so what now? I used the scope rings that came with the B square base should I put the original rings that I had on the scope back on? I'm puzzled

Did you have to shave some wood to get it to mount?
