Hi everyone merry Christmas to all --- Question they say to use standard velocity ammo in the older 22 cal guns like the model 25 pump, at what what speed in fps is considered standard verses high speed
its hard enough to find 22 ammo let alone something marked standard. Thanks

There's a lot of standard stuff out there.http://media.midwayusa.com/productimages/880x660/Primary/225/225774.jpg

22 match loads are good to use in the old guns as well.

No offense to BigAl1, but Minimags are hardly "standard velocity". Mad Dog's suggestion is dead on - all match ammo is loaded slightly subsonic, (except Federal Auto Match), so pressure is moderate. Match ammo tends to be a bit more expensive, but that's because it's better, more consistent ammo. But anything rated 1100 fps or less is fine. CCI SV is the least expensive of the "quality" makes.

Browse thru this site; they state the nominal velocity for everything they list.

No worries! I was just copy and pasteing, didn't even see they were the Mini Mags, just looked at the velocities. I was restoring an old 1906 Winchester for a friend, and found it did not like anything but .22 SV. HV stuff would not extract, I would assume they are a slightly higher pressure. I just picked up a Savage 1911, boys rifle in .22 short, and the seller recommened .22 short target of CB caps to keep the pressure down.

I figured as much.

I've been hosting a rough old Remington #4 rolling block that won't extract anything more powerful than shorts and CB CPA. Rough chamber.

We have a couple of guys in the ASSRA who compete with CCI Standard Velocity. They don't win anything, but they don't come in dead last either. Hard to get these days - wish I'd stocked up before the famine.
