Is the long range hunter in 6.5-284 small shank or large and any good reviews on it

most likely a small shank if it's a newer model... However, just pull the serial number off it and call Savage directly. They will be able to tell you for 100% certain.

That's what I do with every one of my savages.

Excellent cartridge and the LRH rifles are really nice and shoot very well. I am not a fan of the adjustable cheek rest, but that's just me. Every one that I have seen or messed with has been a small shank.
