Frame assembly, magazine

I recently purchased a 10/110 Trophy Hunter XP in a .243 and am wondering if anyone makes an all-metal frame assembly and magazine for this rifle. I have not experienced any problems with the plastic, but I would like to replace it if possible. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help.

Call Savage, they sell both metal and plastic. I believe the long range hunter models and maybe a couple others have metal frames and floor plates. I think these are the part numbers you are wanting.

The savage bottom metal design is not that good in my opinion .

The current Savage TH synthetic stock has the DBM frame assembly (surround) molded into the stock. It has the plastic magazine bottom with tab release first introduced with the Savage Axis. Therefore the Savage metal DBM frame assembly and metal magazine bottom cap will not work with the current Trophy Hunter factory synthetic stock. You would need a Savage factory or aftermarket stock with the inlet for the metal DBM frame assembly and metal magazine bottom cap.

Not that I have had problems just a few things I didn't like.

The mag release lever is in front so they had to make it short enough so if you were resting the rifle on something you wouldn't bump against it and release the mag. I prefer the ones in the back of the mag.

You have to insert the back of the mag first then the front to get it to work. Not a huge deal but if you are in a hurry may make you fumble. On the other hand on Accuracy international mags slide in and click that's it.

There is a heavy metal plate on the bottom of the mags. This is to cover the open area of space between the mag and the bottom metal. Why? Why did they design it like that?!

Not sure why it was designed like that but the mags and savages blind mags use the same metal magazine parts. I think it had something to do with that.

So really it has never failed me but function and form I personally don't like. Would have been sweet if they were compatible with ai mags or at least not so out of the norm that making aftermarket ones wasn't so difficult. The aftermarket ones are $90+ . The ones I've seen use the factory mag along with their custom box added on the bottom.
