Just picked up a new 10 FCP .308, does anybody know what they like to eat for bullets? I don't want to buy a box of something
I can't use.. I was looking at 165 gr. SGK's for hunting and distance work..

I don't have one, but I would think with the 1:10 twist that the 165 would probably do alright. I would first try something in the 160 to 180 range, and go from there.

Provided its 1:10, 168 gr A-Max but my 10T 308 really loves 178 ELD-X bullets (I reload). If you don't, get superformance ammo.

The 180spbt Gameking as a superb dual purpose bullet.

44.5 to 45gr of Varget in Win. brass and BR2 primer was the sweet spot in a 10fcpk 308. Very accurate.

Thanks everyone, I do reload. I'm thinking about buying a box of 168gr. Federal Premium Gold Medal Winchesters and see how she likes them..I don't want to buy a hundred round box of bullets and can't use them.

168smk's always shoot great in all 308's I've shot.

168smk's are not ideal for extended range work compared to others. 178eldm are very accurate and work great way out there.

168 & 185 Berger Hybrid are superb all around. I found the 168 Hybrids to be a bit more accurate (easier to tune) than the 185gr Hybrid's.

I will be shooting steel out to 1000yds if I can, but 500yds is a real long shot around here...

Don't be afraid to try a lighter bullet either. My Model 12 loves the 150Gr Norma TAC FMJ rounds.
