The book series that the character is based on by Stephen Hunter is much better. The shooting is more plausible than what the movies put out there.

Haven't had a TV since 1974 but always tried to keep a girlfriend with a nice set. There's no reception here anyway, cell phones don't work either.

i saw the first episode. so far not very impressive in my opinion. Walks into a gun store and tells the counter guy he needs some bullets and powder for a 338 Lapua... never tells him specifically what he wants. Dude tells him I'll hook you up... WTF? shouldn't the expert marksman tell the man exactly what he wants? I'm no expert, far from it but I know EXACTLY what bullets and powder I want when I walk into a gun shop.

This sounds like a disappointment. However, most TV shows that feature any profession usually get the details horribly wrong. I can't really watch TV shows that feature and center around IT concepts. Bob Lee Swagger, at least in the novels, would be a veritable expert on shooting. After he left Vietnam, he moved into the mountains of Arkansas, kept to himself and his guns. He would have known the exact components to buy.

On the other hand, I would imagine that the producers on the show wouldn't want to publicize that kind of data to the ignorant masses. Similar to the fact that shows featuring hacking wouldn't publicize the tools used for hacking. What do you guys think?
