I have done a search and did not return much. Is anyone using this combo? I am looking for a good starting point for a load.

Anyone have the hornady book? some start and max loads would be great!

Thanks

I am assuming this is for a .243. So, all I can say is I once had a .243 barrel for my T\C Encore. Any bullet that was less than 100 grains would shoot teeny tiny groups using H-414.

Odd part was, when I loaded a 100 grain bullet.....the best I got was MOD...Minuet Of Deer!!

But.....yeah, load up your 87gr. with H-414. It should shoot the eyelashes off of flys at 200 yards easy enough.

Hodgdon's web site shows an 85gr. using H-414 with the Min of 42.0 and the Max of 45.0. I'm not going to tell you what to do, but I would probably start at 41.0 and work up to a max of 44.0 or 44.5 while watching for signs of pressure. But....that's just me and I would not suggest you do that. (Hows that for a disclaimer!!)

Might also be for a 250 Savage as that bullet and the 100 grain bullet were the usual weights for that chambering.

ya, sorry 243. It seems that 44gr is just the ticket! Thanks Dave :)
