I traded in a H&R at a LGS today and picked up a really nice looking 111 flat back chambered in .223 sporter barrel with sights. The only mark on the wood stock is on the right side forend that flows into the checkering. The finish is still intact, just bumped and pressed a little. It has a blind magazine. I mounted up a 4-16x44 scope and am ready for the range sometime soon. I had the opportunity to get an Axis for about half the price, and a Ruger American Predator for $30 more. I chose this because I can convert it to 6.5x55, in the future if I decide to, without too much hassle.

I have some factory 50gr Vmax, 52 BTHP, and 55 SP to shoot up for donor brass. If I can get out before Tuesday, I may take it out for yote and long range turkey the end of next week with the 55 SPs.

I am sure questions will arise, but for the time being, I just wanted to share. Photos after range visit.

BH 55 SP remanufactured and HSM 50gr DHP first range session. I have a lot of work to do yet, but I am happy. The trigger is stiff but clean, and I realized that the bolt has to be moved with a purpose or I will get failure to feed. I am really looking forward to getting to know this rifle more.
