Anybody out there shooting a dasher. Think I will add one to my switchbarrel collection.

Either Bartlein or Kraiger. Guess bugholes would be my best bet for a barrel

Depends on how fast you want it!

Little faster than my 6 BR. More of a 1000yrd accurate 6mm

I'm about to start shooting a 6mmBR for the first time. What's the difference between a 6 BR, 6 Dasher, and 6 XC? Are they all the same parent cartridge?

I'm wanting either a dasher or a BR myself... Subscribing....

Add this little projectile to the mix and BAM you got a shooter...

I have a 6br. It is a 1 holer. Just working on how small that.hole can be. I recommend it before a dasher.

The dasher is really for 1000 yrds. Can't beat the 6 BR out to 600

6 Dasher is a great varmint round, I have two friends that I hunt with that use a Dasher and a 6 BRX with a lot of hits in the 700 / 800 yard range. Cases require fire forming before they can push them fast. 105 gr A-Max is the bullet that my friends use.

FYI - I use the 6BR with 70 gr bullets myself, but this limits me to about 500 yards.

How much more barrel life can you expect from the 6BR as compared to the 6 Dasher?

barrel life in any caliber depends on how its shot...ive read claims anywhere from 2000 to 4000 rounds from both the 6BR and the dasher...if your running a barrel hard and hot the life will be somewhere in the lower of the two numbers...if shooting 5-10 rounds and letting the barrel cool then somewhere in the higher of the two.

Most of the guys running 6brs in competition are using 105s and loading them hot. Accurate Barrel life is about 2000 rounds

I would expect that the dasher running even hotter would have a shorter barrel life.

But that is why you have a savage. Changing a barrel is a snap.

It's a very accurate caliber. Both are. Greath for distance shooting. Only problem is that unless you start with a 6br, your gonna have a single shot. If you want a round that will load look at the brx.

I have a friend that has a dasher and he shoots competition with it. He told me the other day that his best group at 1000 yards was 4" with it. Then he told me it was for sale. Talking with him it sounds like an excellent choice. Other than that I cannot offer much else.

The 6 br, brx, and Dasher are all outstanding, I started with the 6 br due to the simplicity of not having to mess around with the brass as far as forming the Case's.

It is very common for any of those choices to shoot very small groups at 1000 yard's.

I would like to try the new 110 Sierra's in say a .243 ack improved 7 twist Bartlien

I know a guy who put on a Shilen select dasher pre fit from nss and it shoots really well. One time at a match he shot 6 into a .25" group at 300 yard's on his sighter target
