Do any of you guys know where I can find 10 round short action (308win) magazines for the model 12 VLP? Alternately will the FCP K mags work in a model 12? Please note I am in canada and most likely won't be able to order out of US. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, Don.

Thanks coach. Did you happen to see the shipping dates on the Canadian side of things? Rough.. order now, wait 2 months or more.

Should you decide on something else... this is the factory version.

No I just saw that they were available in Canada through Aztech Armory

Actually looking at min 3 months, and possibly longer from Aztech.
Ratmag, those say bottom latch release. Is there a difference between bottom bolt release and bottom latch release? These are the questions I can't find answers to. Probably the difference between fcp sr and k mags. I believe the newer model 10/11's have bottom bolt release so k mags? What is the diff??

The bottom release latch releases the magazine and is part of the bottom metal.
The bottom bolt release is part of the bottom metal and releases the bolt.
The Model 12FCV has a bottom bolt release and a bottom release latch

The Model 12LRP has a top bolt release and a bottom release latch.

Regardless of what kind of bolt release you have, the mags fit both as long as you have the bottom metal mag latch release.

Some new Mod 11 have Axis type of magazines where the latch is on the magazine and the stock has no bottom metal. The mag clips right into the plastic of the stock.

If you have a bottom metal, you're good to go with the darkeagle of the new FCP-sr 10rd mags.

I love how the Savage factory short action mags hold up to 2.995" coal. I have AICS bottom metals on some of my Savages and the max coal is only 2.860".

Thanks guys. I'll start looking for the FCP-sr 10 round mags. I would prefer not to change bottom metal, but I'll see what I can find here first.
Currently I'm seating to 2.783 COAL so length isn't an issue.

Just a follow up, I was able to get on Aztech Armory's November shipment list for the darkeagle 10 rnd mag. These magazines are well built, and fit flawlessly. Thanks for the lead coach.
