Will Brux 1.250" Straight Contour fit on Savage 12F / Precision Target Action?

Is it possible to install a Brux (or any other brand) 1.250" straight contour barrel on Savage PTA? I have a 12F that I'd like to re-barrel but I vaguely remember seeing a diagram indicating the outside dimension of that action is between 1.110" and 1.115" and in my non-gunsmith mind those two dimensions don't match.

try to do it without the barrel nut cause it will look funny as hell. I have a 1000 yard set up for Williamsport pa using a small shank action with no problems at all. good luck mark

Just a fyi, but another old shooter, good friend, and former president of that club recently died here in FL.
D.W. Bill Miller, machinist, gunsmith, and all round great guy who was loads of fun to spend time with.
That makes 3 good friends and former shooters there so far this year.
BTW, when Bill started shooting there he used his 25/06 groundhog gun.
