The trigger will not go lower than 3.5 lb. The only thing I did is changed from botom bolt release to top. I don't want to cut the spring down not sure how. Mike

Don't know didn't have trigger pull gauge. I think about the same. When I backed the spring all the way in, the exposed part of the spring is compressed. It has no adjustment. I used savage parts to convert. Mike is

The top bolt release sear might be a bit rough and need a little polishing ? just a guess. And a lil polishing is not a bad idea anyhow.
Make sure the top bolt release is not rubbing against the action or the stock. I don't think that would affect the pull weight anyways, just sayin.
I've converted 2 bottom bolt release Savages to top bolt release. Had to cut off the top bolt release from the new sear to re-weld it on a angle so it clears the receiver.
I FUC:censored:ING HATE THE BOTTOM BOLT RELEASE !!!
Ohh yea... One more thing... Make sure the trigger springs are seating properly in their places.

Got it fixed down to 2.5 lbs. Not as light as I wanted but a lot better. Thanks Mike

Buy a varmint trigger spring, if that does not help find a target sear

I cut 3 coils off spring . I streched the spring a little. It helped and no creep. I cycled bolt fast and hard and dropped about 1' it didn't fire.
