Just picked up a Shilen 26" SS barrel for my Stevens .243 project.

Which recoil lug should I use when installing the barrel?

Should I also replace the barrel nut?

Does it matter that I'm putting a SS barrel on a blued action? I don't care how it looks is there anything to watch for performance wise?

Thanks, Matt.

Either a SSS or a Northland recoil lug (both advertisers here) Use your existing barrel nut, just make sure its flat where it contacts the recoil lug. People put SS barrels on blue actions (and visa versa) every day. Have fun!

.240 or .250 is all you will ever need, if you have your action trued and you put a new true lug on it, you might as well have a trued nut on as well, some say it doesn't make a difference but why wouldn't you go the extra mile and make it right. Accuracy doesn't care if the SS barrel is on a blued action or vice versa :)

I like the SSS recoil lug the best. I buy another brand in 10 packs somewhere else because of a bulk discount but the SSS is much better because of the centering screw and for a single item purchase the price is very similar.

That will work, but Jim's at NSS is cheaper and slightly thicker at 0.250"

No, that one is CM and in the white, aka unfinished, not stainless.
