I'm looking at Savage (like them & have 3) for a long ranges bench gun. I want 6mm but, most of their 6mm/243 come in 9.25 twist. I do see that both the 12 F-class and 12 Bench rest come in 8 twist so I will be able to shoot 105-115gr bullets.
Questions :
- I am left handed and don't mind right bolt but I must be able to properly grip the stock. Is the stock on these for both left and right hand?
- Does the stock need bedding or is there an aluminum base like the Accu-stock?
- What moa is anyone seeing with original factory barrel? Would like to get some use before swapping/replacing barrel?

Pictures at Savage really don't show these well and no one around here has either one so, I'd appreciate some help from anyone that owns one or both of these.

Thanks,
Regis

I have a 12 F/TR and easily shoots 1/4 min with factory ammo. I don't think you'd have trouble with the stock re: left handed. It should work equally well for both. Great rifle.

My Model 12 .308 stainless barrel is very accurate. 0.4" for 5 shots at 100 yards, center-to-center. With more expensive bullets, even better. It really likes all the Bergers: VLD or hybrid. Yeah, faster twist is definitely the way to go.
