My best friend picked up a .308 10p-SR and was looking to buy an accustock for it. Will any bottom mag release 10 series accustock work ? Thanks.

The recoil lug is the deal killer. His recoil lug will not fit the Accustock and will need to be altered or changed out.

Is it a simple part change on the lug or is it a machine and ordeal ? Thanks.

you will need a barrel nut wrench and barrel vise.

Uggh. This sounds like a project. I have headspace equipment , just not the savage tools.

...and the correct lug.

The one on the left is what you need and the one on the right is what you have.

So what else is different besides the lug ? I found a smith who can do it readable.

It looks to me like a grinder, a file and a dab of cold blue would do it ???

Yep. Got one in the box. Not my proudest moment but it worked.

So it's just modify or replace the recoil lug and that's it ?

^^^^Yep. After that, you need either synthetic frame/axis style detachable mag ($15-20) or the better, stronger version designed for it... an all metal frame and detachable mag ($110-150)
