Ok guys, and or gals(PC)...
Getting ready to order dies to get setup for loading .338 Edge and want to make sure I'm going about this the right way, going to order the following... all Redding btw...
1. FL .375 RUM die, along with a 338 taper carbide expander for it.... to FL re-size the once fired 300RUM brass I've got and neck it up to .338.
2. Type S Match Bushing Neck Die Set in 338 RUM, putting a .364 bushing in the neck die to use after the brass is FL sized the first time and for additional firings, neck sizing only, after fire formed to my chamber. I realize the 338 dies don't get screwed down as far as they would if I was loading for 338 RUM, shy about .090.
One other question:
Should I use a reduced load, and smaller and cheaper bullets, to fireform cases, or can I go all out w/ 300 SMK's and 92 - 94 grains of H1000? Can accuracy be different with non-fireformed cases vs fireformed cases?
Thanks in advance,
Doug
