Hello all - already learned a lot from you from searching the caliber and model in these forums.
Went to Field & Stream - wanted to get an Axis II in 6.5 Creedmoor to see if I liked the cartridge & savage before upgrading.
Close by was a Savage 10fcp-sr 20" Kryptek 6.5 Creedmoor w/ a Crossfire II 6-18 AO and luepold rings already on it.
The $500 I was thinking of spending turned into $1,000 real fast.
Long time hunter, trapper, outdoorsman. Never needed anything more than the old Marlin 30-30 when they came out with the lever-evolution. Last few years I passed on a couple stands w/ 300yd shots lest I see and not be able to take the shot. Going to double as a yote/groundhog in similar distances so I settled on the 6.5. Really should be two guns but I'm a simpleton. I already feel bad at the thought of leaving the marlin in the safe....
Goal is to be close to 1 MOA 450yds & in, ride close in the truck on the farmers fields and not beat up this recoil shy dude.
