pillar bedding

I was looking at my stock and see the pillars supplied by Midway or Brownells are too loarge in diameter, and the rear pillar would interfere with the sear. Have you fellas use two different size pillars?

I use the same size pillars. The rear pillar has to be notched to fit around the trigger assembly. One of the site sponsors, Stocky's Stocks, sells pillars for Savage that are already notched.

As I sat on the john this morning it dawned on me.... I remember see the stock pillars on mt 270.... the rear is notched....

What a ball buster it was to get out the front eshutson!!! I managed to save 98 percent of the shoulder for the new pillar. :P
