Warranty repairs

How is Savage on repairs? Do they reimburse or pay for shipping? I have not shot my gun in a couple years but it was piercing primers when I shot it last. Have had some life changing things happen and have fallen away from the shooting scene for a bit. I want to start back into it again and I need to get it fixed.

Or should I just get a new aftermarket bolt head? And a firing pin, as I'm sure it has been flame cut or pitted by the primers piercing.

I see PTG has a bolthead. It list a option of bolt head alignment cut. What is that? And would I want long action or short action for the Axis in 223
