I'm a few miles north of Findlay, IL, near the Shelbyville Reservoir. I have a couple of Savage's and thought I'd join. I still have my childhood rifle, a Stevens M-73. It has some problems that I thought I could get help with here. Lots of memories with that gun and I want to get it fixed.
I'm a stock maker, and made my first one in 1980. I have a sawmill and cut lots of walnut for gunstocks. I do wood carving and also metal engraving. I went to art and engraving school in Gardone V.T. Italy in '84-'85 and engraved guns until '96 when I cut the end of my thumb off at the machine shop where I worked. I'm more into the wood work now. Gary
