Just ordered me a Axis II in 6.5 Creedmore. Pretty excited it should be here Wednesday. Anybody wanna share their experiences with this rifle? I have 2 of the AXIS I rifles in 22-250 and 7mm-08 and they have both been great shooters. Plan on using it for coyotes and deer.

I took the rifle out for the first time since buying it yesterday and was impressed. I was shooting Hornadys 140gr ELD-M factory loaded ammunition and with the first 4 shots through the gun I ended up with a 3/4" group at 100 yards. Pretty good for a gun straight out of the box. I'm going to get some brass and bullets and see what results I can get with a hunting bullet next. Out of a total of 20 rounds through the gun today and my biggest group was about 3" at 200 yards.

That's a decent group for an out of box Axis. I have had a few and most shoot around .8ish..to 1.25 MOA with standard factory stuff.

I was pretty surprised to get groups as good as I did.

Sounds like you got a good gun. I never knew that Savage had a good reputation for accurate barrels until I got to looking on the internet. My one and only Savage is an Axis in .308, and it will shoot a 1" group with FMJ American Eagle ammo.

I have a .270 axis in a boyds stock, cut trigger spring and with 5 bullets down the pipe. Took it out last weekend to test 3 bullets I had handloaded. 3 shots in about a 3/4" group at 100yds (I didn't measure). I was blown away.
