I picked up the rifle that I bought from joe h on this site. It's a 338 Edge. One of Joe's pics from his ad:

The gun store also had a Type 38 Arisaka in need of some serious TLC. It was only $120. I didn't have any extra cash, but he set it back for me. I'll go pick it up when On Call duty ends next week. I want to make it a sporter. Yeah, I know I'll never sell it for a profit, but that's OK.

Thanks Joe. :thumb:

Nice looking rig! My stock is not as spectacular as that one and I had a guy drooling over it (12FV chassis) last week.

Not so many these days get excited about the old Model of 1917, they sure do like the latest stuff though. All good, they will get there!

Gorgeous rifle. Who made the stock?

It's a Richard's Microfit "Wildcat" thumbhole stock.
I have to admit I wasn't crazy about it when I saw the photos, but it looks better up close. Unfortunately, hunting is very expensive in Texas. Since there's a range very close by with a 1,000 yard target line, I'm going to put the rifle in a maple and walnut laminated benchrest stock. It's the type that has only 5 layers of thick laminate.

I shoot left-handed, so I'll be selling the stock.

Is that by chance Best of the West? If so, I've been curious about that place and thinking about checking it out sometime.
