I've lurked here a few times. I'm building a Rem/Age because I couldn't quite figure out the differences in the Savage action line.

1st question other than the DBM how does a 111 differ from an Axis? Is one better than the other?

I'm interested in building a 6.5x55 if that matters?

I can't help with your question, I've never looked at the Axis line. You might try posting that question in either the 110-Rifles or Axis-Rifles sections as someone with the answer will be more likely to see it.
