Are both of these actions the same? I mean like in the
screw spacing? I have a Bell Carlson stock for the
Stevens 200 and wonder if the Axis is the same
spacing.Thank you for your info..:confused:

No they are not same spacing

Other than a very few parts (barrel, bolt head, and occasionally the trigger mechanisms), they are completely different. The only thing the two models share is their purpose in Savage's lineup: to increase the prestige and MSRP of the 1X/11X rifles by providing a "cheap" option.

I own both Stevens 200 and Axis and will say the Axis is easy to work on. IMO, it seems that the action is a little smoother in operation compared to my Stevens 200 and model 10/110.

Shame they discontinued the Model 200's I loved them over the Axis Rifles etc.?

I would not pass up a fair deal on a Stevens 200 :-)
