My guess is it may be an extractor issue and not the brass. If you do a search on here there are several threads regarding problems with extractors (mostly copper colored ones I think) and a simple ball detent or spring may fix the problem and save you from having to get rid of good brass. I have a little experience with hornady brass in .204 but not in .308 match so I can't really help you. Just something to check out.

here is a link to extractor issues:

i have seen two cz 550 rifles (claw extractors), one in 22-250, and one in 308, BOTH with hornady brass do what you were saying, just drop em about half out of the chamber or so.... wouldn't be surprised if all hornady brass is like this, for the cz's it seems the problem is the extractor groove is just too deep, extractor cant hold the brass with any tension where it needs to be able to. the 22-250 was just some factory hornady loads. the 308 brass i was trying had the 308 hornady match headstamp....
