Hi all. I'm looking for a Savage long action small shank models with side bolt release. I tried Savage customers svc but the recommendations were a Magnum caliber in the hunter or Varmint model. But on looking at them they look like bolt release on the bottom.

Sounds like you have a build in mind. By something off the forums and do your thing.

Take a look at the 110, 111, 112 models. Those are the long action models. Short actions are 10, 11, 12.

SOME of those models are large shank, such as the LRP's.

Thanks. Only a very few are top bolt release. Most long actions are now bottom bolt release. I've checked the 110, 111,112,114,116 models and it's the same story with the exception of a few 338 Lapua Magnums, but those are of course large shank.

The 111 was what you are asking for at one time.

The way to do it is to go to Gunbrokers of some other site, look at the pictures and pick the one that matches what you want.

In my case I came across one at Cabellas, pictures clearly had it with side bolt release and the segmented nut, and that was all I needed. It could have been large shank but I felt it was small with the rest.

Gunbrokers you can ask the seller to confirm that.
