I have a bunch of 30-06 stuff laying around and am thinking about an AXIS specifically setup for cast bullet shooting to be used as an economical shooter and hunting gun. Don't read much about cast shooting with the AXIS but wanted to see if anyone here has tried and what your experiences were.

I've never tried it, but there isn't anything special about the Axis when it comes to modern, smokeless, centerfire, button rifled, box magazine fed rifles. Other than the price, I mean! I hope someone else chimes in with actual experience, but as long as that combination of features is okay for cast bullets, it should at least be safe.

I don't own an axis but I do shoot cast in almost every rifle & Pistol I own from the 22 Hornet to the 45-70. They will shoot beyond your belief but it won't come easy. You have to forget everything you know about jacketed bullets and most things you have read or heard because it doesn't apply to cast.
