New Savage Shooters member from East Texas near Athens and Tyler. Retired from 27 yrs in Air Force and 15 yrs with Federal Express. Live on small ranch with wife raising premium quality horse hay. Enjoy fishing, golf, traveling, and shooting. Only have one Savage Model 25 .22 (s/l/lr) but it is very special to me because it belonged to my late dad. The gun shoots and operates fine but the octagon barrel is slightly leaded and the stock is cracked. I intend to restore the gun without disturbing the patina and dated look if possible. I am impressed with the quality of the new out of the box Savage rifles and will likely buy a new .308 or 338 rifle in the future.
