A while back I bought a Stevens 110E Series K 30-06, for a very reasonable price due to its previous owner having a white snakeskin dip job done to the wood stock. I'm curious when she was made. Serial number 24919x. Had a Savage 110E series K back in '87, so I'm thinking this one may be of similar vintage. After getting rid if the dip job and refinishing the stock, I found her to be accurate and very consistent in point of impact, hot or cold barrel. I would like to get a longer barrel though.26 inches being preferred. However, I don't want a much heavier contour.
I went with the 110 as its the best TEOTWAWKI bolt action rifle out there. I've had great luck with110's over the years, and i hope that it continues with this one. Suddenly, a rifle anyone can fix or rebarrel is extremely valuable...

Consider a standard sporter weight barrel from any of the major manufacturers, ie, CBI, McGowan, Shilen, etc, and you will be more than satisfied with the accuracy.

Is there a letter before that serial number? The 110E was offered from 1963 - 1977, and then reintroduced from 1981-1988.

No letter prefix to the serial number. The baffle doesn't have a guide rib and the receiver lacks a corresponding groove. The stock has the pressed skip line checkering. The safety has 3 distinct positions, but the middle position doesn't allow the bolt to open. Never had that happen before. The magazine follower is plastic, and the triggerguard is aluminum. The receiver is matte finished and the barrel very nicely polished. She's marked as Stevens with a Westfield Mass. address.

My bad. She does have an E prefix to the serial number. No obvious signs of rebarrel such as nicked up nut grooves.

E prefix started in August of 1982 and runs up through May of 1989. Yours dates to March or April of 1984.
