I called Savage about the accustock.... $165... Is it just as good or better than glass bedding? The price os a bedding job just for the recoil lug area is more than the accustock. :P

I guess it depends what stock you are thinking of bedding. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. I have an accustock rifle and I think it's one of the better factory stocks out there. $165 doesn't sound bad, but it might not be a direct bolt on, depending on what model you have. My accustock rifle has a different recoil lug than my stevens 200, and different bolt release as well.

Most people are capable of doing a bedding job, there are some good posts on how to do it....that would cut down most of the cost.

well thing is, I can bed it, but, I wondering if I should replace the trigger first.

Also the smith I called said he usually just goes in front of the mag, just past the recoil lug. I wondering if savage guns do better with full reciever bedding.
