Savage 112 help

Hi guys im new on here I was told this was the place to bring questions about Savage rifles. Anyway I got this rifle in a trade from a friend who didnt know much about it either, Its a Savage 112 in .308 he was told it was a Compatition/Tactical I was told its pretty much the same rifle they use for 1000 yd compation shooting. You guys will have to forgive my not knowing crap about precision rifles as I go on. I think the stock is aluminum bedded because there is no internal mag or anything its just a single round type of deal. Its heavy as hell and shoots awsome even with me shooting it. Like i said i realize i sound like a noob and thats because i am thats why im asking for help. Do you guys know any info on these rifles or how much they worth or anything. Im not sure what im going to do with this damn thing the furthest range i go to is 200 yd and i know thats a slap in the face for this gun. Any help would be appriciated.
