Will a top bolt release stock work with a bottom bolt release action?

You'll have to file part of the stock where the top bolt release is. A 5 minute job and that's all. There is a faint outline on the Factory bottom bolt release stock were it would be hollowed out if it was for a top bolt release.

Make sure the action spacing is the same.

Long action is a hair over 5" bolt spacing

Short Action stagger feed is 4.4"

Short Action center feed is 4.27"

I might have the short action center/stagger feed mixed up but you get the point.

Yes, you can put a 111 Bottom Bolt Release action in a LA Top Bolt Release stock. The Savage Top Bolt Release stock is cut for an old style trigger guard with a thin front lip. So you will most likely need to do some dremel work under the front lip of the BBR trigger guard's thicker lip to get it to set flush with the bottom of the stock.
