First post!

I've got a 110fp (I think it's an fp) with a 24" barrel chambered in 308.

Arent the 110's long action? Does anyone know why a 308 is chambered in a long action? Isn't 308 alright in a short action?

the extractor is losing the empty casing after firing prior to the ejector kicking it out. I've heard this is common.

Anyone have some advice on getting this figured out?

ill be shooting some 168 gr gold medal match tomorrow to see what the stock rifle is capable of with that ammo. I'll be super stoked if it's sub moa for 10 shots.

A little bit of research would reveal that before Savage developed their short action platform, all chamberings- short or long - were built on long actions. That's all they had at the time.

There is an extractor upgrade package available for enhanced extraction, available from several vendors.

Gotcha. Thanks!

Didn't know there was that much variability on these things.

Im on the hunt for a 20 moa scope base but it seems like a lot of them are for the accutrigger model.

Anyone know if the accutrigger base will fit the non accutrigger model?

No the accutrigger bases are different. You will see listings for round back or flat back. It is exactly as the name implies, the top rear of the action is either round or... you guessed it, flat as in what you have.

Here's a link for one option. Sometimes cheaper to buy through optics planet or the like, sometimes not. I have been very pleased with all EGW parts from my several one piece bases to my 1911 parts.

Thanks so much-I was actually considering a 30 or 40 moa base. Your link is exactly what I needed.
