Wayne, I've had mine for about 2 years now and love it. Shoots 1 1/2" groups @ 400 yds on average, w/ the best group to date being 5/8" @ 400yds.
My loads are using Lapua brass, Fed match primers, 142 grain SMK's, and 52 grains of H4831sc. This is a couple grains over max data for this cartridge, so I don't advise this of course!
Thorough brass prep is in order before you load.

Kent,
I have Lapua brass and redding dies and bushing on there way thanks for the info,I hope mine will shoot as well as yours.I had heard from some that the 6brs and .308s shot really well but 6.5s werent somthing about chatter marks, maybe they got that problem fixed.

Mine's wearing a McGowen barrel. It likes 50.0 or 50.5 grs of H4831SC and the Berger 140 VLD's in Lapua brass and Fed match primers. I don't think I could get close to that 52 gr load. That's pretty hot.

Hey Fella's,
I got my new 6.5*284 about 10 day's ago,was working 12 hour day'so didn't have much time to work up any loads as I decided to take it to Montana to the 1000 yd championship shoot on the 14th and 15th. on the twelfth I spent the day working up a load. I had to leave the next morn.so didn't have much time. I used 52.5 gr of H4831-139 lapua scenars- br-2 primers-and Lapua brass.Didn't shoot great but shot ok.so I loaded 100 of them and left for Missula @ 4:00 a.m Getting the brass fireformed must have worked because it shot great. It was very windy,my last relay on day two I got high score for heavy gun,got 9 shots in 5.5" but had a flyer out, made a 13.2" group but got a 96 score. Made me very happy doing that with a factory f class Savage. Thanks guy's
