Has anyone tried Trail Boss in the 17 Remington?

Have not tried it.

Quick load shows ok.
17 rem. 25gr vmax. Trail boss. 22" barrel. Not the fireball.
Should hold up to 8 gr.
34000psi. 2560 fps.

6gr. 23000psi. 2200 fps.

I expect that lighter bullets would be lower pressure, higher velocity.

Trail boss is fun to play with. You can do a case full on almost any load.

.
Yes this would be for the Standard 17 rem not the Fireball. Thanks for the data.

I bought an older rem 700 in 17 rem a few years ago.
It had 20 boxes of factory ammo and about the same in brass plus unused dies and a few hundred 25 gr tips.
Ive yet to shoot all the ammo at the crows that torment me across the road.
But I have killed a couple less than intelligent turkeys that didn't see me sneak out the door while they were busy.
But those velocity numbers don't sound right to me unless its a very light load.

Trailboss is a reduced load powder. Very bulky. Donut shapped flakes. Fast burning and fluffy. Only 9 oz fit in a normal 1lb bottle.
