"AR-15" is not very specific details about your comparison. Are you happy with your results? Not happy? What AR build are you comparing it to, and what have you done to your axis?

This thread is useless without gun porn. I'd hate to be a coyote at 200 yards with either

Is this the American Eagle AR223 in the black box? I just picked a box by mistake and the COAL is definitely under the recommended 223 length. I can't return it and hate just to throw it downrange. That could be the difference in the two targets.

Does it really matter? Two guns using the same ammo and getting the same results is not as common as some folks want us to think. The fact that the AR shot better (if you take the shooter out of the equation) means nothing more than it's barrel liked the ammo better. Your barrel might stack them or it could look like a load of buckshot at 50 yards. The only way to know is put it on paper. And that means rounds down range

Well, I have read so much about the bullet distance from lands/touching lands, that I didn't know if it would affect accuracy. The AE AR223 averaged .040 OAL less than my other 223. I actually opened my box today, shot one group, and it was no worse than the OP. I was pleasantly surprised. Not MOA, but that is just probably me.

They both look like good groups. I always out shoot my AR carrying friends but I think it's because most of them are bad shots.
