New MK II G

I ordered a new MK II G from my LGS, it should be here by Thursday. I have a Marlin XT 22tr ( tube fed) which is a heck of a nice shooter. Going to take both out with my grandson using similar scopes ($100 range Bushnell's). Whichever he likes best will get dressed up in a new Boyds stock with a Montana sling and be given to him as surprise birthday present a little later on this year. I like a good bolt action .22 as much now as I did 45 years ago when I got my first one. That Marlin is awful sweet, I know this Savage will run with it though. Wonder which one he will favor?
