My bolt opens a little rough, and I noticed the cocking piece pin isn't level when holding up the bolt..... it sits to one side in the sleeve...

I took it apart and reinstalled the pin.... it's straight now, but still a harder to cock then my other savage. The .243 is the problem child, the .270 is fine.

I polished the ramp on my bolt, just enough to remove the chatter marks, it's allot smoother now, I could install a Bolt Lift kit, but I'm going to wait till I'm able to shoot this project I have going. It's quite smooth now and I don't think I'll need the lift kit.
About the only other thing you could do (after all the Do It Yourself tricks) would have it Timed and Trued.
I'm keeping mine strictly DIY.

I polished the caming surfaces, and it's alot better.... the original bolt handle is to small, so I ordered a large handle from Midway.... we'll see what happens ;)
