I'm looking for a new rifle chambered in 7mm-08 and i'm looking at both of these rifles. Can anyone help me with the major differences between the two. The scope and rings really don't make a difference for me as I will probably change them out anyway. Thanks

What are you using this future rifle for?

Savages are easy to work on, best accuracy from the factory, and can be upgraded.

Remington is the most popular bolt rifle out there. Gunsmiths can work on them easily and there are so many options for people that can work on them a custom build is pretty easy to do.

I learned a lot for the Savage rifles I built and owned. It made me aware of all the characteristics I wanted in a custom rifle when I was ready.

I was thinking the same thing about being able to work on my own rifle, but being new to bolt action rifles I can't wrap my brain around all the different numbered models on the savage. Remington the 700 comes in different configurations and with savage all the models have different numbers. I just wanted to know if the 11 was in the same ballpark as the 700. Thanks

The 10, 11, 12 etc are short actions
The 110, 111, 112 etc are long actions, thats the number designations for ya.
A model 700 comes in long and short action. (Shorts for short actions cartridges and longs for LA carts.)
No need for you to be confused ☺
