so ive decided to do cheap axis build in 22-250 Ackley. ordered a 28 inch bull barrel with target crown from apache. going t put it on a boyds pro varmiter stock. thinking about a millet lrs scope. ive heard people some say this scope is good and some say not so good. I wanna keep this in the 11 to 1200 price range.

Done a few "budget builds" as well, and you should be able to keep it around $1000.00 I would think. May I suggest skipping the Millet and going with a 4-14x Primary Arms FFP or since I see you are getting a 28'' barrel and I assume maybe? using this for PDOG/Varmint Hunting at distance, try a BSA 6-24x from Midway.

Good luck and keep us updated.

It's not really about Obj lens size, but the intended purpose of the scope. For instance, if you were just doing some medium to long range shooting at IPSC type paper/steel say 500-1000 I would suggest the Primary Arms. For Pdogging something with a little more power since they can get rather small at say 400-500 yards, this isn't to say that the PA Scope wouldn't work just fine because it would. I was just suggesting a few scopes, one FFP the other SFP, that would keep you within budget.

Do you think this barrel would shoot 69 grain smk's?

Im gonna guess probably not, seems like it might be a bit of a slow twist for that one. You could try and see....

Ill stick to the 50 to 55 grain bullets. I really like the v max. Ive been ready that the ai needs a slower burning powder is there any truth to this?

I love the vmax...my favorite varmint bullet. They come in 60gr too. As far as a slower burning powder....maybe just a touch but your case capacity isnt greatly different than the standard case(just a few percent)...so the same powders should work just fine. Example...my 22-250 loves IMR4064. Ive got a 220 swift barrel(I havent put on yet)...which is about the same capacity as the 22-250AI, and from what Ive been reading IMR4064 is good in it as well.

Can you use 220 swift data?

I dunno that I would do that, especially since 250AI data isnt hard to come by. Several of the powder manufacturers list data online for it.
Heres Noslers data http://www.nosler.com/nosler-load-data/22-250-remington-ackley-imp/ I just happened to be on the site looking for some stuff.

For a budget build the Midway BSA tactical would be a good way to go. In my family I have one on a 243 and my son has one on his 30-06.. There has been at least 1000 rounds shot with them and they still hold zero and track well. Clarity is good up to 20 power then it gets a bit fuzzy.. Plenty enough scope to get you out to 500 to 600 yards.
