Having problem trying to figure out if I buy the Bull Barrel or the Standard Barrel stock.
If I buy the standard do I need to remove material?
Called Boyds and the gal couldnt answer my question.

Ok after searching for the 10th time in 3 days.....I may not be 100% accurate so correct me if I found wrong information.
Apperently Boyds calls it the Bull Barrel when in fact it is the Heavy Barrel when dealing with the Savage Axis. Mine is (as printed on the box) a SAVAGE AXIS II 22-250 PRED. The info I found was in regards to the Boyds Pro Varmint stock, so I cant say it applies to any other of thier stocks. I am going to order one and see, the worst case is to send it back and pay restock fee if I have to.
I would still like any input as I am going from what someone else wrote.
Any first hand expirience with this issue would be the best. Thanks Shawn

This place moves slowly on Sundays. You've got to give it some time!

You're right. What Boyds calls a "bull barrel" is what most people call a "varmint barrel"...unless it's on an Axis, then Savage Arms calls it a "heavy barrel". Since none of the terms are strictly and authoritatively defined, they get used interchangeably.
