Hello
I am new to the long range game and am having some issues setting my model 10 FCP-SR. I have the zero moa rail on this riffle and I just mounted a Vortex Viper PST 6x24x50 EBR1 FFP MOA scope on it with Farrell low rings. The scope was used so the settings were based on the old owners rifle setup. I bore sighted at 25 yards to get on paper then dialed it in at 100 yards. I did zero the rifle based on where the scope was set when I received it. My problem is that my 100 yard zero leaves my elevation turret set on almost five full turn to the top without much adjustment to increase (only 12MOA of adjustment left) once I start stretching my shots out. I can use my recital holdover for longer distance but I dont have much room to adjust the turrets to elevation. The CRS is not shimmed so I am not running into a stopping issue as far as being able to adjust there.

What am I missing here?
Is this an issue with the zero moa base?
What can I do to increase my internal elevation adjustments?

I completely understand that this is probably very basic, like I said I am very new to shooting with a more advanced scope.

Thank you

Steve

The fact it was used on someone elses gun isn't an issue and would have no affect on using it on your gun.
You will need to install a tapered scope base in order to have more adjustment on the up side after zeroing the gun.
The only way to get it is with the scope base. If you have 12 minits left at this point, installing a 20 minit base should give you 32 minits total.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking. Thank you very much for the info.

Had a similar issue with my 10T with flat base and my vortex crossfire II. Needed to add the 20 MOA base in order to have full adjustment
