Anybody loading the 5.7x28 for a bolt gun? I see Savage is making the model 25 in this caliber. Is the lacquer coated cases as important in a bolt gun as in semi auto rifle?

I could be wrong but I don't think that ever happened for Savage. Was discussed in 2011, but I never saw one.

I was thinking of building one and when tumbling the cases with SS media it takes the lacquer off so I was thinking with a bolt it shouldn't matter.
thanks

Not a bolt but a blowback pistol, 5.7x28 is a tricky round to reload. Brass availability is an issue. Its best left alone unless you enjoy torturing yourself. Velocity for a 40g vmax is pretty impressive for 5g-7g of powder though.

thanks - right now I load 7 different calibers everything from 17 hornet up to 30-06 and 4 different pistol and have a few hundred 5.7x28 cases. just not sure if I really need another caliber to load for.
