Bedding Savage 93f pic request..please

Are any of my Savage buddies kind enough and technically gifted enough to post pics indicating precise locations to apply bedding to the action on the plastic factory stock? Iv been reading for MONTHS on the topic but don't have the ability to watch any of the many videos posted on how to so this. All the tutorials I have seen are for other models, and I simply don't have the guts to attempt this winging it and guessing about any aspect of this. I understand the fundamentals of why and how and have committed all the tips to memory,,ie,,plenty of clay, release agent and tape to ensure the epoxy doesn't go anywhere its not wanted. If I had pics with lines drawn to the places I'm supposed to apply, as well as lines showing where to tape and apply clay and tape, I would have the courage to take this giant leap lol please understand I have utilized the previous posts and pit thought into which forum I'm posting in and hope I made the right choice. Also, please forgive me for beating a dead horse and understand where I'm at in experience and why I'm so reluctant to dive in to this alone. Lol

Just did mine. All I can say is use Hornady one shot or make sure you have the right kind of shoe polish because my 17 is now JB welded into its stock. Shoots better though. Yes tape everything off, have a wet rag on hand to wipe any excess away immediately. It doesn't need much. I just saw where mine was making contact with stock and just bedded those areas. behind the barrel and the rear tang. Ill see if I can find any pics worth posting.

I think something went wrong with my first reply..sorry that happened to you. If ya don't mind me asking..where do you think it went south? The release agent? Also, what kind of shoe polish was used?

you sure you just didn't smack it hard enough to pop it free? The 7mmRUM I did a while took quite a bit to come free.

It was the release agent. Used black shoe polish non Kiwi brand. You need Kiwi neutral from what a lot of people say. I know for a fact Hornady one shot works though. Check out cavedweller1959 on youtube, he has some good savage rimfire bedding videos.

And heres the best group I shot first time out after bedding. They werent all that tight but it has never shot a group that small before the bed job. Definitely an improvement. That orange circle is one inch. Group on the right was 10 shot from my MKII FVSR with Mini Mags.

No its definitley in there, I had others confirm that colored shoe polish will not work. I would be bending the barrel if I tried any harder, didn't want to push it. I don't really need to take it out of the stock anymore anyway but it still kind of sucks.
Ive heard of putting a clothes iron on top of the receiver to soften up the JB, google say JB needs to reach 600F to soften up. Not sure if I want to put my gun through that. Shoots fine. I can still blow out the trigger group with compressed air, I have never needed to to anything other than clean the bolt and bore then lube up the bolt. So over all I am happy, just glad its shooting tighter.

Foxx turned me on to Brownell's Accu Release and it works great.

Any good Carnuba car wax works great as a release agent for bedding actions.

Did yours not already have pillars? I think mine does, alone kind of round spacers that the top screws into the action and the screw come up through to stock into those...if I'm remembering right. Did you see a noticeable improvement in accuracy is does it just ensure its consistent regardless of the weather conditions..

I made the aluminum pillars. It was more consistent and slight more accurate

Do you simply rub the wax on the action and anything you don't want the expoxy welding to? And do you put a heavy coat on or just use it the same way ya eax a car? Trying to avoid any mishaps..

That's correct. I used car wax

That was fast..lol..anything one needs to know about the process other than bore the original hole out so the pillars fit and cut em down to the perfect length? Then epoxy them into place?

Nice job, mine is a TR too. Really like the gun. What did the pillars do for you group sizes? I'd say glass bed just brought the flyers in a little closer. I would say average for mine gun would be 1.3 Moa, just over an MOA. So Im happy, used to shoot 1.5-2.2 MOA.

Mine was quite a bit more accurate it was slightly over .5 moa average. I primarily shot 300yds with it
